Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking an Oncology Discovery Biology / In Vivo Pharmacology intern to contribute to oncology discovery research using in vitro assays, flow cytometry, mammalian tissue culture, and animal tissue processing. You will gain practical knowledge of oncology biology, immuno-oncology, drug discovery and translational research through hands-on lab work and collaboration with scientists.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Biology, Cancer Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or related.
• Strong academic performance and demonstrated interest in biomedical research and oncology drug discovery.
• Prior academic or research lab experience preferred; exposure to mammalian tissue culture preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support in vitro studies characterizing biological responses to investigational oncology therapeutics, including T-cell engagers.
• Perform mammalian cell culture, including routine cell maintenance and preparation of cells for experiments.
• Assist with flow cytometry sample preparation, data acquisition and analysis.
• Support animal tissue collection, processing and downstream analysis from preclinical oncology studies.
• Document experimental procedures, observations and results in accordance with laboratory practices.
• Organize and analyze experimental data with appropriate scientific software.
• Prepare figures, data summaries and presentations for the project team.
