Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking a dedicated Coder II to review medical records, apply ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding guidelines, and ensure accurate and timely code assignment. The role supports the reimbursement/revenue cycle by maintaining high accuracy and fast turnaround times.

Required are a high school diploma and coding credentials (CCS/COC/CCS-P/CPC/RHIT/RHIA). Familiarity with EMR systems (Cerner, EPIC) and various encoders is preferred, with strong communication and analytical

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; 1+ year in acute healthcare preferred.
  • Hold coding credentials (CCS/COC/CCS-P/CPC/RHIT/RHIA).
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT coding guidelines preferred.
  • Strong medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology knowledge.
  • Excellent computer skills and written/oral communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (Cerner, EPIC) and encoders.

Responsibilities

  • Review medical records in full and apply coding guidelines and regulations.
  • Assign ICD-CM/PCS and CPT codes accurately and timely.
  • Meet or exceed turnaround times and quality expectations.
