Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Dallas, TX location. Typical hours are Mon-Fri from 8:30am-5:00pm. The role involves assisting physicians, managing patient flow, and performing clinic support tasks in a clinical oncology setting.

The ideal candidate will have an entry-level background with MA credentials, BCLS/CPR certification, and the ability to perform phlebotomy when needed. Join a team focused on high-quality cancer care and patient support.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Accredited Medical Assistant program certificate preferred.
  • 0–3 years' MA/NA experience for entry level.
  • BCLS certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms and physicians' offices.
  • Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Obtain patient records as required prior to treatment.
  • Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies.
  • Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
  • Maintain room disinfection protocols and patient communication.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as typing, filing, and reception as needed.
  • May enter orders under a provider's direction.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent
Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
Certified Medical Assistant
Current BCLS certification
Phlebotomy experience
CPR certification
