Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support Corsicana and Midlothian locations. Typical hours are Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:00pm. The role involves patient care, record-keeping, and clinic support duties under direct supervision.

Ideal candidates have entry-level MA experience with CMA or CPR/BCLS cert, and a focus on accurate vital signs and efficient patient flow in an oncology setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• 0–3 years experience for entry level MA/NA.
• BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Some state regulations may require specific certifications.
• Level 2 requires 3+ years MA/NA experience; phlebotomy preferred.
• Level Sr requires 5+ years MA/NA in hospital/clinic; CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to/from exam rooms and offices as appropriate.
• Record vital signs and patient data prior to visits.
• Obtain patient records required for treatment.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms; order supplies.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer injections as delegated by RN/physician.
• Maintain room disinfection protocols and safety standards.
• Answer phones and schedule-related patient calls.
• Phone in prescriptions and notify physicians as directed.
• Reschedule patients and inform physicians of changes.
• Perform admin duties: typing, filing, faxing, chart prep.
