Job summary

The START Center for Cancer Research seeks a Nurse Navigator to support Phase 1 clinical trials. This role serves as the primary liaison between patients, referring physicians, and START staff to ensure timely, coordinated care and smooth trial participation.

Responsibilities include educating providers about the Phase 1 program, coordinating referrals, scheduling appointments, and maintaining trial documentation while addressing barriers to care. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required.
• Active RN license in the practicing state.
• Minimum of 1 year oncology experience.

Responsibilities

• Educate physicians and staff about the START Phase 1 program and trials.
• Handle referral intake and coordinate high-quality patient care.
• Schedule Phase 1 appointments and address barriers to care.
• Present trial information via virtual and in-person platforms.
• Maintain patient tracking and study monitoring documentation.

Education

Associate’s degree

Registered Nurse (RN) license

Oncology experience (1 year)

OCN certification (preferred)
