Job summary

The START Center for Cancer Research in Myrtle Beach, SC is seeking a Nurse Navigator to join the Phase 1 program. This role serves as the main liaison between patients, referring physicians, and START staff to ensure timely, personalized care and smooth trial enrollment.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate’s degree, an active RN license, and at least 1 year of oncology experience, with preferred certification (OCN) and clinical trials exposure. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required.
• Active RN license in the practicing state.
• Minimum of 1 year of oncology experience.
• Preferred: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification.
• Preferred: Clinical trials experience.

Responsibilities

• Educate referring physicians and staff about START Phase 1 trials.
• Perform referral intake for new patients, ensuring coordinated care.
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology for patient matching and care coordination.
• Support patients by scheduling Phase 1 appointments and addressing barriers to care.
• Present new and ongoing trials to referring physicians and staff via virtual and in-person platforms.
• Coordinate case conferences and attend tumor boards to support multidisciplinary cancer care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for Phase 1 patient tracking and study monitoring.
• Attend administrative meetings, protocol reviews, and site visits as required.
• Demonstrate effective communication and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Support growth goals of the clinical research program with respect to new patient referrals and accruals.
