Job summary

The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at The University of Iowa seeks a Clinical Trials Research Associate to coordinate oncology study activities, assist in planning, delivery and evaluation of care for protocol patients, and maintain comprehensive data management across multiple departments.

Responsibilities include data entry, database management, subject enrollment, consent, and collaboration with investigators, coordinators, and sponsors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a research setting.
• Experience with medical terminology required.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in computer software applications.
• Ability to organize and evaluate complex medical information and data.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage complex information with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical oncology study activities and assist in planning, delivery and evaluation of health care provided to research protocol patients.
• Create, populate, maintain and enhance databases containing clinical and research information.
• Assist in design, development and administration of data gathering and data entry for clinical trials.
• Communicate study objectives and requirements to team and external stakeholders; develop tools as needed.
• Assist in screening, recruitment, enrollment of subjects, and scheduling assessments per protocol.
• Obtain informed consent and educate participants on study scope and schedule.
• Enter subject data into electronic databases ensuring prerequisites are met.
• Monitor data collection, maintain records, and provide documentation for physician review.
• Support compliance activities and maintain source documentation for trial procedures.
• Coordinate research collaborations with outside institutions and sponsors; ensure data entry aligns with protocol.
