Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a General Oncology/Solid Tumor Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) to support oncology research patients at Fred Hutch and UW Medical Center Montlake.

The role is on-site at South Lake Union, with a Monday–Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm schedule; training and advancement opportunities are provided, and you will work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure protocol compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree required.
• Current Washington State RN license or multi-state license (MSL) and upgrade to an MSL with WA residence within 60 days of hire.
• Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card and renewal every two years.
• Minimum 3 years of oncology experience.
• Experience with clinical research preferred and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equilibrium between care of the research participant, protocol requirements and compliance.
• Advocates for others using nursing expertise and judgement.
• Provides nursing and clinical operations support to the research team.
• Educates patients and families about study protocols and documents appropriately.
• Pre-screens patients and confirms eligibility with investigators.
• Assists with adverse event assessments and data entry per protocol.
• Documents in EHR and tracks protocol-specific information.
• Reconciles medication diaries and supports clinic visits as needed.
• Ensures patient safety and protocol compliance in collaboration with PI.
