Job summary

Harris Health System is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Oncology at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital in Houston to optimize medication therapy and serve as a clinical resource for the care team.

You will participate in rounds, lead clinical initiatives, and provide education to staff and learners while advancing Harris Health's mission of compassionate, high-quality care in a safety-net system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required
• Doctor of Pharmacy preferred
• LS: Texas Pharmacist licensure within 90 days of employment
• Preceptor Certification within 90 days
• BLS within 90 days
• ACLS for inpatient positions/oncology outpatient within 6 months
• IV sterile certification for inpatient areas
• Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification within 18 months if not held

Responsibilities

• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and clinical initiatives
• Provide direct patient care and optimize medication therapy
• Educate pharmacy staff, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
• Precept pharmacy interns and residents
• Lead clinical initiatives to improve care and cost-effectiveness
