Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One (1) year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education: identifies learning needs, attends education programs, uses patient education materials, assesses readiness to learn.
• Evaluation of Care: identifies outcomes, revises plan, discusses care with the team, communicates for continuity of care.
• Implementation: provides care for patients with complex needs, performs bedside testing, follows policies, prioritizes care, consults resources as needed.
• Leadership: sets goals for growth, participates in performance improvement, supports interdepartmental collaboration, promotes safe care.
• Patient Assessment: gathers data to determine care priorities, assesses discharge needs, builds family relationships to support advocacy.
• Planning: collaborates with patient/family to update care plan, leverages multidisciplinary resources, communicates plan, respects cultural considerations.
• Research: reads journals for applicable studies and shares ideas for evaluation.
