OHC is seeking a Medical Assistant at our Eastgate location. The role supports physicians and clinicians with patient care, assists with exams and procedures, and ensures efficient patient flow in a clinical oncology/hematology setting.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma (AHC program preferred) and BCLS certification within 3 months. Entry-level experience (0–3 years) is acceptable, with several benefits and ongoing professional development provided.

Formación

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Entry level position with 0–3 years’ experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Some state regulations may require specific certifications to work as a Medical Assistant.

Responsabilidades

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
• Record patient data prior to each physician visit (vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication changes).
• Obtain all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answer patient telephone calls for referrals to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Enter prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
• Inform physician of patient reschedules and no shows.
• Perform other administrative duties (typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception) as requested.
