Job summary

Texas Oncology is hiring a Medical Assistant II to support the Arlington South location. The role involves assisting physicians, handling patient data, preparing rooms, and performing routine clinical tasks in a fast-paced oncology setting.

Under supervision, the MA II will promote efficient patient flow, support clerical duties, and adhere to compliance standards. A high school diploma and MA program completion are required; BCLS certification within 3 months is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• 0–3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant (entry level).
• BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred; state certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Record patient data prior to visits (vital signs, height, weight, allergies, med changes).
• Obtain necessary patient records as required by physician.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as needed.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
• Maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answer patient calls and refer to physician or nurse/pharmacist.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program

Certified Medical Assistant (preferred)

Current BCLS certification (within 3 months of hire)
