Job summary

South Shore Health seeks a Clinical Assistant to support oncology patients within the Dana-Farber/Brigham Cancer Center team. You will collect vital signs, draw specimens, and assist with procedures while maintaining a safe, organized care environment.

You will stock supplies, transport patients and materials, and help educate patients and families. Strong teamwork and HIPAA awareness are essential in this busy clinic.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred; college coursework encouraged.
• Completion of an accredited clinical assistant or medical assistant program preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; nursing student rotations may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and courteously.
• Obtain and record vital signs and basic patient data.
• Draw blood and collect specimens with proper labeling.
• Assist nursing/medical staff with procedures such as bone marrow aspirates.
• Stock, order supplies, and maintain patient education materials.
• Transport patients and specimens; maintain clean, safe areas.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant patient identification and privacy.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the care team.
