Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking an RN for the medical oncology unit responsible for assessment, planning, and delivering patient-centered care for cancer patients and medical step-down patients. The role requires strong nursing judgment and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration, and contributing to treatment plan updates.

Qualifications

• RN: Registered Nurse credential is required.
• BLS: Basic Life Support certification is required.
• DIMC: Dysrhythmia Interpretation Monitoring course is required within 12 months for hires after 2025.
• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• TEAM ADVANCED: Techniques for Effective Aggression Management within 6 months.
• ONS BIOCRT: ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Bio Certificate within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Regularly assesses patients and provides skilled nursing services per plan of care.
• Provides direct patient care including meds administration and treatments.
• Evaluates treatment plan effectiveness and updates the plan with the team.
• Processes physician orders accurately and timely.
• Follows up on medication changes and clarifications.
• Demonstrates clinical and technical care per policies; maintains accurate documentation.
