Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology Navigator to provide individualized support to tumor patients and families, coordinating care and education across diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. This full-time role features a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends or on-call, and includes a $20,000 commitment-incentive bonus.

Active NC RN license, BLS within 30 days, and 3+ years of oncology nursing are required; OCN preferred and a Bachelor’s degree

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• Three or more years of RN Oncology experience required.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
• Educates patients and caregivers on disease, treatment, side effects, and survivorship.
• Coordinates referrals with Frye Regional and regional partners.
• Provides emotional support for patients and families.
• Advocates for appropriate utilization of resources and overcomes barriers to care.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and ensures seamless care plans.
• Maintains accurate documentation and supports cancer care coordination.
