Job summary

Mission Health in Asheville, NC seeks an Oncology Clinical Nurse Coordinator to deliver and coordinate compassionate, evidence-based care for oncology patients within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. The RN will manage treatment plans, educate patients and families, and support safe transitions across the continuum of care.

Working in a highly collaborative, patient-centered environment, this role partners closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team while mentoring staff

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina or compact state.
• Preferred OCN certification for oncology expertise.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Certification in chemotherapy/biotherapy administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee oncology patient care plans across the continuum
• Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing monitoring of oncology patients
• Administer chemotherapy and related therapies safely and per protocol
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and symptom management
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
• Support discharge planning and care transitions, including referrals and follow-up
• Ensure accurate, timely clinical documentation in the EHR
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff
• Uphold regulatory, safety, and infection-prevention standards
