Job summary

Virginia Oncology Associates is seeking an APP Manager to support APP operations across practice locations in the Hampton Roads region. The role emphasizes leadership, policy development, and collaboration with physicians and administrators to optimize APP utilization and outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have an advanced practice degree, valid licensure, and at least five years of healthcare experience with hematology/oncology exposure; managerial experience is preferred, and travel to sites

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner studies.
• APP licensure required.
• At least 5 years health care experience; community oncology preferred.
• At least 1 year managerial experience preferred.
• Hematology/oncology experience strongly preferred, other specialties a plus.
• Excellent verbal/written and organizational skills; ability to multi-task.
• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director in implementing strategic plans for the APP workgroup.
• Develop and implement APP policies and programs.
• Promote professional growth and satisfaction within the APP workgroup.
• Handle people management responsibilities.
• Evaluate APP utilization and productivity.
• Lead site visits to support APP operations.
• Represent APPs in meetings and committees.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Oversee clinical performance and quality metrics.
• Manage scheduling, workload distribution, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with administrators, physicians, and leadership.
• Conduct annual performance reviews.
• Lead recruitment and onboarding of APPs.
• Oversee onboarding, preceptor, and mentorship programs.
• Implement orientation and continued education for APPs.
