Job summary

BRCC in Blacksburg, VA seeks experienced Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants or Clinical Nurse Specialists to provide patient care in oncology/hematology settings. Under supervision or collaboration with practice physicians, you will assess patients, implement therapies, document care, and participate in education and research.

Qualifications

• MSN from an accredited nursing program with NP, PA, or CNS preparation.
• Minimum 3 years of practicing NP/PA/CNS experience preferred.
• Current RN licensure and state NP/PA/CNS licensing where applicable; CPR/BLS.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.
• Initiate and document interventions; evaluate and record responses and prescribe therapies as indicated.
• Perform procedures with minimal supervision.
• Assess patient/family needs and provide education.
• Promote wellness and refer to community resources.
• Incorporate evidence-based research into clinical practice.
• Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation promptly.
• Possibly provide case management for patients and families.
• Mentor nursing staff and precept APP students when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
