Job summary

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to assist physicians in patient care and teaching across a comprehensive cancer program.

You will assess patients, write prescriptions, determine trial eligibility, and participate in multidisciplinary rounds and on‑call coverage. Florida licensed NPs with AANP/ANCC/ONCC certs and BLS are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, master’s degree in nursing or post‑masters NP certificate program.
• 0 - 3 Years Licensed as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Current Florida license/registration to practice with prescriptive privileges or eligible
• Certification from AANP, ANCC, or ONCC.
• BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients through interview, history, exam, and diagnostics.
• Write prescriptions for medications and treatments per protocols.
• Determine eligibility for clinical trials based on findings.
• Interpret and evaluate study results and patient data.
• Communicate care plans to collaborating physicians and team.
• Provide on‑call coverage and hospital rounds as needed.
• Triage patients to determine urgency of evaluation.
• Maintain patient records accurately and timely.
• Support training of new staff and adapt to evolving workflows.
