Job summary

Duke Cancer Network seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Johnston Hematology Oncology Clinic in Smithfield, NC. You will work with a team to deliver hematology/oncology care, participate in clinical trials, provide education, and advance program quality.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday, day shift, with on‑call rotation as needed. You will collaborate with attending providers to ensure timely inpatient consults and contribute to a community-focused cancer care mission, within Duke

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioners: Master’s in Nursing required.
• Physician Assistants: Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• DEA license with prescriptive authority required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical practice and program services under supervision of a physician.
• Maintain prescriptive authority in line with regulations.
• Lead Quality Improvement initiatives with DCN and local teams.
• Design and deliver educational programs for healthcare learners.
• Support research activities and integrate findings into care standards.
• Represent Duke in leadership activities and keep current with practice trends.
• Assist with orientation of new providers and coverage planning.
