Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Onboarding Specialist to ensure our onboarding program provides high-quality social and developmental experiences for all new SpaceX employees. You will design and scale programs, collaborate with stakeholders, and manage systems like Workday, Jira, and Greenhouse while tracking metrics.

You will also lead weekly orientation prep, respond to inquiries promptly, and help new hires adapt to SpaceX culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of professional onboarding, learning and development, HR, or program management experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Help manage and scale the company’s domestic onboarding program.
• Lead design, development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of onboarding programs with innovative strategies and tools.
• Partner with stakeholders to update new hire information and practices.
• Develop and understand onboarding systems (Workday, Jira, Greenhouse, etc.).
• Track metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Assist in weekly orientation preparations and deliver timely responses to inquiries.
• Identify positive onboarding experiences to help new employees adapt to SpaceX culture.
• Collaborate with HR leadership to create onboarding resources for managers and leaders.

ONBOARDING SPECIALIST

As an Onboarding Specialist, your contributions will ensure the Onboarding Team can consistently provide high-quality social and developmental experiences to all new SpaceX employees. Your efforts will ensure we can maximize the Onboarding Team's impact on new hires, helping them become great SpaceX employees quickly. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and outcome-focused.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help manage and scale the company’s domestic onboardingprogram
• Lead design, development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of orientation andonboardingprograms with innovative strategies and tools
• Partner with stakeholders across the company to update all new hire information for current company practices and policies
• Develop and act on a deep understanding of internal onboarding-related systems (Workday, Jira, Greenhouse, etc.)
• Track metrics to evaluate the effectiveness ofonboardingprograms, then develop and execute recommendations for program improvements
• Assist in weekly orientation preparations
• Provide outstanding service to our customers by responding in a timely manner to their questions
• Identify and implement positive employee experiences to help new SpaceX employees adapt to company and team cultures quickly
• Partner with HR leadership to create and implement impactful onboarding-related resources for hiring managers, company leadership, and other stakeholders in the onboarding process

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of professional experience in onboarding, learning and development, human resources, or program management

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Prior experience leading projects from inception to implementation
• Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
• Ability to learn quickly on the job
• High level of self-motivation, initiative, and sense of urgency to get things done
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive problem solving skills
• Resilience and flexibility; the ability to work in a dynamic organization with rapidly changing needs
• Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Familiarity with SharePoint or other content management system
• Familiarity with Greenhouse and Workday a plus
• Expertise in onboarding

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Position requires ability to travel up to 20% of the time
• This is not a remote position and will require relocation if not already local to the Palo Alto, CA area

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:
Level 1: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00
Level 2: $105,000.00 - $145,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year.
