FLEX Payment Solutions is seeking an Onboarding Specialist to guide new Merchants from application through activation. You can work from the Fenton, MO office or remotely, reporting to the Director of Compliance.

Guiding Merchants from Sales Close to Go-Live

Full-Time | Fenton, MO or Remote

FLEX Payment Solutions is seeking an organized, highly motivated, and detail-oriented Onboarding Specialist to join our growing team. This is a newly created position — a chance to help build, develop, and improve our onboarding processes as the role evolves.

You'll report to our Director of Compliance (a reporting structure that may change as the Compliance team grows), and you can work from our Fenton, MO office or remotely.

About The Role

You’ll guide each new Merchant through onboarding — from Sales close, through completing the FLEX application, to full approval and activation. You’ll be the Merchant’s primary point of contact for applications and documentation, make sure every file is complete and accurate before it goes to Underwriting, and keep our Sales team informed of progress through Hub Tracker. (This role is not responsible for negotiating Merchant fee schedules.)

What You’ll Do

• Set expectations — explain the application process and why each piece of documentation matters.
• Collect and review — coordinate Merchant documentation and review every application for completeness, accuracy, and consistency before Underwriting.
• Solve problems — work with Merchants, Underwriting, and Sponsor Banks to resolve questions and documentation issues.
• Keep everyone in the loop — monitor applications, communicate status, and provide daily updates to Sales, Risk, and Management.
• Manage the pipeline — own open pre-Underwriting tickets in FLEX CRM and track key metrics like Time-to-Approved and Time-to-Live.
• Make it better — spot trends and bottlenecks, then design and implement new onboarding processes with our internal teams.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of experience in Merchant onboarding, implementation, project management, payments, or fintech
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal teams and Merchants
• Comfort working in a CRM environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to juggle multiple applications and priorities
• Independence and ownership — you're comfortable building processes in a newly created role
• An eye for process improvement and the ability to use data and reporting to drive change

Nice to Have

• Experience in the payments or fintech industry
• Working knowledge of ACH, Merchant Processing, Pay-by-Bank, and RTP
• IRIS CRM experience

How Success Will Be Measured

Success is measured through both your individual performance and improvements to the overall onboarding process, including:

• Time from file submission to Risk through approval and go-live
• Percentage of files accepted by Risk on the first submission
• Merchant activation rate — the percentage of Merchants processing within an established period after go-live
• Reduction in incomplete or inaccurate application submissions
• Process improvements successfully implemented and adopted by the team
• Effective communication and coordination between Sales, Risk, Underwriting, Sponsor Banks, and Merchants
