We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Onboarding Payroll Expert to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee administrative tasks and support various departments, requiring excellent organizational skills, multitasking abilities, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Client Payroll Onboarding:
- Evaluate client needs and recommend suitable payroll providers based on company size, location, and structure.
- Coordinate the implementation and setup of payroll accounts for new clients.
- Collaborate with benefits brokers to align employee benefits strategies with client goals and compliance requirements.
- Guide clients through setting up fringe benefits, stock options, and other compensation elements in payroll systems.
- Assist in net-to-gross and gross-to-net calculations for compensation structuring.
- Content & Documentation:
- Create clear, customized payroll onboarding documentation for clients.
- Develop and maintain internal SOPs related to payroll, onboarding, and benefits administration.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- Payroll or HR certifications (e.g., FPC, CPP) are a plus but not mandatory.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in CPA firms, HR consulting, or multi-client environments.
- Proven ability to set up payroll systems and benefits programs for small to mid-sized companies.
- Knowledge of U.S. payroll compliance and experience working with brokers.
- Experience with payroll platforms such as Gusto, ADP, Paychex, Rippling, or similar.
- Experience creating SOPs, documentation, or client-facing materials related to payroll and onboarding.
- Client-facing experience in fast-paced, service-oriented settings.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple implementations.
- Strong communication skills for guiding clients through technical payroll topics.
- Deep understanding of payroll tax laws, compliance, and best practices.
- Ability to collaborate across departments (tax, HR, legal) for onboarding solutions.
- Tech-savvy, comfortable with new systems and automation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), payroll software, and workflow tools.
- Fluent in French.
