A maritime service provider is seeking a First Assistant Engineer to oversee the maintenance and operation of its engineering plant on the USNS Guam. This crucial role requires strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical expertise as well as a valid U.S. Coast Guard license. Candidates must have a background in marine engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage various duties onboard the vessel. This position involves working in demanding conditions while adhering to safety regulations and training new engineers.
Qualifications
Five years’ experience as Marine Engineer with rising responsibility.
First Assistant Engineer Unlimited Horsepower USCG License required.
Ability to maintain compliance with USCG physical standards.
Responsibilities
Maintain and operate vessel systems within USCG regulations.
Perform daily/weekly/monthly preventative maintenance as scheduled.
Train new engineers and ensure compliance with legal standards.
