Job summary

American Cruise Lines is seeking an Engineer – Unlicensed to join our growing fleet. The engineer will oversee the technical operation, maintenance, and safe performance of propulsion and onboard systems, while coordinating with regional port engineers and hotel officers to deliver five-star service aboard ships carrying 100–200 guests.

The role requires experience with diesel machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems, TWIC card, and ability to work at sea for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of shipboard machinery and auxiliary systems.
• TWIC card and pre-employment drug testing are required.
• Ability to live and work on board a vessel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all shipboard machinery, including propulsion, auxiliary, and electrical systems.
• Provide 24-hour response for technical issues and emergencies.
• Support vessel docking, logistics, and operational maintenance as needed.
• Implement maintenance schedules to keep equipment in optimal condition.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Document maintenance, repairs, liquid transfers, and inventory.
• Oversee contractor repairs on machinery and systems.
