Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks an Engineer – Unlicensed to oversee the technical operation and maintenance of shipboard propulsion, electrical, hydraulic, and auxiliary systems aboard our fleet.

You will respond to issues within 24 hours, coordinate with Port Engineers, and ensure compliance with maritime regulations while supporting guest service and safety.

This full-time, on-board role requires stamina for long shifts and the ability to live at sea for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of shipboard machinery and auxiliary systems.
• TWIC card and pre-employment drug testing.
• Ability to work in a maritime environment and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all shipboard machinery.
• Provide 24-hour response for technical issues and emergencies.
• Maintain safety and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate with port engineers and hotel officers for operations.
• Oversee repairs and manage spare parts.
• Maintain daily deck security watch.
• Optimize fuel usage and crew safety.
