Applied Intuition is seeking a Field Test Engineer for Autonomous Systems to lead on-water test events aboard autonomous surface vehicles. You will gather data, monitor and troubleshoot autonomy systems, and communicate findings to engineering teams.

The role requires offshore-ready individuals with 3+ years in field operations, strong technical writing, and willingness to travel up to 30%. Base location is San Diego, with office-based expectations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent hands-on experience.
3+ years of test, integration, or field operations experience with electro-mechanical or software-intensive systems.
Hands-on testing with autonomous or unmanned systems in marine domains preferred.
Willingness to travel up to 30% including offshore assignments.
U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Responsabilités

Execute on-water test events for autonomous surface vehicles.
Support pre-underway system checkouts and launch/recovery operations.
Operate and monitor autonomy systems during tests and maintain safety on deck.
Collect, manage, and analyze test data; ensure data quality for sorties.
Identify, document, and triage system discrepancies with agile tooling (Jira).
Contribute to test plans, procedures, and readiness reviews under supervision.
Author clear after-action and test reports with observations and recommendations.
Support HITL and simulation-based testing between on-water events.
