Job summary

Whidbey Telecom is seeking a Voice Engineer to support reliable, secure, and scalable voice services. This on-site role focuses on Metaswitch platforms, SIP services, carrier interconnections, and related troubleshooting within the Langley, WA office.

The position requires 3+ years in VoIP and Metaswitch, strong understanding of SIP, routing, and network protocols, and willingness to collaborate with carriers and PSAPs. Eligible to work in the USA, travel as needed.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
CCNA or Metaswitch certifications or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years of VoIP/telecommunications experience.
Experience with Metaswitch technologies and SIP-based networks.

Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Metaswitch platforms including CFS, SBCs, MPBX services.
Configure and maintain SIP trunks, routing, and number portability.
Support SS7, SIP, SIGTRAN, and related protocols; perform service provisioning.
Monitor voice traffic, troubleshoot call quality and routing issues; collaborate with carriers and regulators.
