Job summary

Teaching Matters seeks an Instructional Math Educational Coach for Middle/HS to coach teachers and administrators onsite across NYC. The role focuses on culturally responsive math instruction, leadership support, and transforming classroom practice.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of math coaching or teaching, strong content knowledge, and experience working with urban schools. Per diem and full-time options are available, with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience as a math coach and/or 4+ years teaching.
• Strong content knowledge in mathematics with culturally responsive pedagogy.
• Experience facilitating teacher teams to achieve outcomes.
• Ability to train teachers in culturally responsive practices.
• Experience in urban schools.

Responsibilities

• Coach teachers and administrators onsite in NYC schools.
• Develop customized instructional coaching plans based on needs assessments.
• Differentiate support based on individual teacher needs and mindset shifts.
• Facilitate teacher teams to analyze data and improve pedagogical practices and student outcomes.
• Guide school leaders in changing systems and communication to support collaboration.
