Job summary

Uncommon Schools is seeking a dedicated Middle School Math teacher for our program in New York. Teachers collaborate in grade-level teams to advance students toward self-guided learning, using CCSS-aligned math curriculum and culturally responsive problem solving.

You will analyze data with your principal and coach to tailor instruction and foster a positive school culture. Requirements include a bachelor's degree and NY state certification eligibility; 1–2 years of urban K-12 experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; NY state certification eligibility requirements.
• 1–2 years experience in urban K-12 settings preferred.
• Strong math content expertise and ability to differentiate instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teach middle school math using the CCSS-based in-house curriculum.
• Meet weekly with principal or instructional coach to analyze trends in student work and assessments.
• Differentiate instruction for all learners in the classroom.
• Build positive relationships with students and engage families to support learning.
