• Experience in transportation construction including paving, surveying, traffic signals, or road/bridge work.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Education/training in civil engineering, construction technology or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect materials used by contractors on highway construction sites and document conformity with specifications.
• Inspect contractor work phases to ensure correct highway construction.
• Read and interpret construction plans for structures, bridges, and roadways with relevant specs and references.
• Perform tests for specification compliance.
• Document pay quantities for monthly and final estimates.
