Job summary

The Department of Enterprise Services (DES) in Olympia is hiring a Tour and Visitor Experience Coordinator to welcome the public and deliver engaging virtual tours, with in-person civic tours as needed. The role staffs the visitor services window, manages the Lost and Found program, and collaborates with Capitol Security and facilities teams to maintain a safe, high-quality visitor experience.

Qualifications

Two years of experience in community, youth, public engagement or related fields.
Understanding of civics, legislative processes or Washington State history.
Customer service experience and ability to present information to audiences.

Responsibilities

Provide welcoming, professional customer service at the Visitor Services window.
Deliver virtual civic tours and conduct in-person civic education or public tours as needed.
Resolve unexpected visitor or tour situations and escalate recurring concerns or security issues.
Assist with logistics, scheduling, and bookings for public, civic, and VIP tours.
Manage the Lost and Found lifecycle in compliance with RCW 63.21 and internal policies.
