Job summary

Shultz Steel is seeking a Torch Cutter to safely cut, dismantle, and prepare metal materials using oxy-fuel cutting equipment and hand tools. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and productivity with potential prior torch-cutting or welding experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in torch cutting or welding in an industrial setting.
• Ability to safely operate an oxy-fuel cutting torch.
• Ability to read measurements and follow cutting instructions.
• Knowledge of different metals and basic cutting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Operate oxy-fuel cutting torches to cut and dismantle steel and other metals.
• Cut structural steel, pipe, plate, machinery, and scrap to specified sizes.
• Inspect materials and determine appropriate cutting method and sequence.
• Set up, operate, and maintain cutting equipment, hoses, regulators, and torch tips.
• Remove slag and debris; prepare cut materials for processing or shipment.
• Follow safety policies and ensure a clean, organized work area.
