Job summary

Contract Land Staff (CLS) seeks an experienced Title Agent for on-site work in Sidney, MT. Responsibilities include extensive title research, tax card reviews, and generation of Chain of Title and Limited Title Certificates in line with project procedures.

The role requires 1-3+ years of marketable title experience, on-site availability in Sidney, MT, and solid report-writing skills. Per diem is available for this position.

Qualifications

• Must have 1-3+ years of Marketable Title experience.
• Must be willing to work on-site in Sidney, MT.
• Some college in a related field or one or more years of experience in an applicable area (i.e. real estate, title abstracting, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Examine mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements to verify legal descriptions, ownership, or restrictions.
• Research relevant legal materials to aid decision making.
• Prepare reports describing title encumbrances encountered during searching activities.
• Read search requests to ascertain types of title evidence required and descriptions of properties and involved parties.
• Pulls tax cards from courthouses and locates them online.
• Prepare Chain of Title and Limited Title Certificates and post files according to procedures.
