Job summary

Metraflex is seeking a full-time TIG Welder to fabricate and weld piping components on-site in Chicago. You will set up welding equipment, prepare materials, and perform precision welds per drawings, while ensuring safety and quality standards.

You will work with production and engineering teams to meet project specifications and maintain equipment for continuous improvement. The role requires strong TIG welding skills, blueprints interpretation, and adherence to PPE and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong TIG welding skills with stainless steel and metals used in piping systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings with accuracy.
• Knowledge of welding safety practices, PPE, and safe operation of welding equipment.
• Experience with measuring, cutting, fitting, grinding, and finishing metal components.
• Familiarity with weld inspection including visual checks and basic measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up TIG welding equipment and prepare materials.
• Perform precision welds on various metals per blueprints and work orders.
• Inspect finished welds for defects and ensure quality standards.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet project specs and timelines.
• Maintain equipment and contribute to process improvements in welding.
