Job summary

Brooksource in Bethpage, NY is seeking an ISP Field Technician for a 6-month on-site contract. You will install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain advanced telecom equipment at customer premises, COLO, and data centers with focus on DWDM and ROADM networks.

The role requires 5+ years in telecom installation and strong experience with OTDR testing, Ciena 6500, and network protocols. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of telecom installation, provisioning, and repair experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ethernet, DWDM, CWDM, WAN/LAN, TCP/IP.
• Hands-on with Ciena 6500, ROADM, and SONET.
• Proficient with OTDRs (EXFO, JDSU, VeEx) and testing tools.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Able to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, configure, and install equipment supporting Ethernet, DWDM, CWDM, and ROADM using Netcracker methods.
• Travel to remote sites and data centers for installation and maintenance.
• Conduct OTDR, power meter, and insertion loss tests on dark fiber networks.
