Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Telecommunications Design Engineer to support complex infrastructure projects within the critical facilities and systems integration industry. This on-site role is based in Charleston, SC, and is ideal for an early- to mid-career engineer with hands-on experience in structured cabling design and cross-disciplinary coordination.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable Engineering discipline with 2+ years of experience.
Experience with inside and outside plant pathways, cabling systems, components, testing, and design.
Knowledge of TIA standards and NFPA codes; ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

Develop, identify, coordinate, and track project requirements throughout the design lifecycle.
Coordinate cabling, spaces, and topology with Data and Wireless Networking, AV, Security, Mechanical, Electrical, and other stakeholders.
Produce detailed design drawings using AutoCAD and REVIT based on project requirements and specifications.
Identify products, create Bills of Materials (BOMs), and develop Product Data deliverables that meet system and project requirements.
Perform site surveys, produce field reports, and identify, propose, and develop technical solutions based on site conditions.
Apply and follow established quality control processes to ensure engineering deliverables meet project requirements, are constructible, and comply with internal standards.
