Job summary

Sensor Technology Engineering (STE) in Goleta, CA, is seeking a System Engineer I to join a team delivering radiation detection systems for CWMD and EOD missions.

The role focuses on development, design, and delivery of STE’s industry-leading detectors, with opportunities to influence production through software, data analytics, and hardware documentation. DOE salary range reflects experience.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Engineering or other relevant technical degree.
• Excellent trouble-shooting capability and analytical skills.
• Ability to set priorities and organize incoming projects.

Responsibilities

• Supports optimization of production throughput and processes, including SW development and data analytics.
• Supports engineering redesign efforts, particularly obsolescence management.
• Revise BOMs, drawings and part numbers as directed.
• Performs routine troubleshooting, test and calibration in production.
• Supports operations to facilitate on-time, high-quality deliveries.
• Documents changes to hardware and deviations from standard procedures.
