Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. in Metairie, LA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a full-time, on-site summer program. This role offers hands-on experience in mechanical design, analysis, and documentation within Bollinger's Engineering department.

You will collaborate with engineers and designers, perform basic calculations, and help develop system diagrams to meet vessel specifications and regulatory standards; candidates should be pursuing ME, Naval Architecture, or Ocean Engineering.

Qualifications

• Currently a junior or senior enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Ocean Engineering.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Engineering department by conducting research and preparing technical documentation.
• Perform general office tasks with high attention to detail, including organizing reports and maintaining engineering records.
• Develop and review system diagrams to ensure compliance with vessel specifications and regulatory standards.
• Conduct basic engineering calculations for system performance and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and other personnel to support various projects.
