Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. is seeking a summer Intern in Waukesha, WI, to collaborate with engineers on digital solutions for our manufacturing process. You'll create manufacturing apps, Power BI reports, OPC-UA/MAPI connections, APIs, and dashboards under engineer supervision.

The role emphasizes MES/ERP exposure, data pipelines, and data visualization. On-site, full-time during May–August 2027, with opportunities to travel to other Generac facilities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in computer science, data science, manufacturing or industrial engineering or related field.
• Experience with discrete manufacturing workflows is a plus.
• Exposure to MES, ERP, supply chain systems, or industrial data platforms.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Python visualization libraries.
• Experience preparing analytical summaries and presentations for technical/non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in data analysis and scripting languages such as Python, R, Julia.
• Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Work on MES app building, data analytics, and other duties as assigned.
• Support design, validation, and documentation of new digital solutions in manufacturing processes.
• Develop scopes of work, technical docs, and training materials for new solutions.
• Provide new solution development support and interface with IT data team for data lake refinement.
• Create and modify Power BI dashboards and dashboards.
• Integrate systems using APIs.
• Travel to other Generac facilities as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
