Job summary

Generac Power Systems is offering a full-time internship program for the summer in Wisconsin, with on-site positions at the headquarters in Waukesha and Pewaukee locations. Interns will work across Electrical Systems, Controls Engineering, Embedded Systems, and Power Electronics to gain hands-on experience in product development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Understanding of basic electrical concepts.
• Able to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics.
• Background in programming languages that communicate with hardware.
• Proficient written and verbal communication to convey messages clearly.
• Able to work full-time during the Summer (40 hours/week); potential to continue part-time during school.

Responsibilities

• Designs, validates, and brings new products to market.
• Supports new product development with CAD models, drawings, and BOMs.
• Interfaces with internal personnel and provides technical support for projects.
• Specifies functional requirements and evaluates design cost, reliability, and safety.
• Develops testing plans and reviews material specifications and BOMs.
• Collaborates with manufacturing partners to optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Uses CAD/CAE systems to model designs and produce drawings.
