Job summary

Snap-on is seeking a Buyer/Purchasing Specialist for an on-site role in an industrial environment. You will strategically acquire raw materials, components, equipment, and services to support manufacturing and operations, balancing cost, quality, and delivery to ensure an uninterrupted material flow.

The position requires evaluating suppliers, negotiating terms, issuing POs, expediting deliveries, forecasting demand, and reporting on procurement performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in industrial procurement or strategic sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
• APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or ISM/CPSM certifications are a strong plus.
• Experience with global sourcing, international supplier relationships, and landed cost analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in MRP/ERP systems to manage demand forecasts and planning.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing: Evaluate potential domestic and international suppliers based on quality, cost, and specifications.
• Negotiation and Contract: Negotiate prices, submit contracts, and review purchase orders and agreements.
• Order Processing and Expediting: Create and issue purchase orders, track status, and expedite deliveries as needed to prevent production delays.
• Inventory Control and Demand Forecasting: Monitor inventory levels and forecast future demand with production teams.
• Cost Analysis and Optimization: Analyze price proposals and total cost to identify savings opportunities.
• Quality Assurance and Issue Resolution: Work with QA and engineering to ensure material quality and resolve issues.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of purchases, supplier info, and contracts; present reports on procurement activities.
• Flexibility: Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
