Job summary

James Hardie in Dahlonega, GA is seeking an accounting professional to support operations by maintaining accurate records, assisting the close process, and ensuring GAAP compliance across inventory, COGS, and manufacturing overhead.

You will collaborate with operations and supply chain teams, post journal entries, perform reconciliations, and help audits while upholding internal controls and SOX requirements where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or multi-entity environments.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to analyze financial data and communicate across departments.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and confidentiality skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and close-related transactions.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Perform reconciliations of inventory, COGS, and manufacturing overhead.
• Support inventory accounting and cost tracking.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable/Receivable and other departments.
• Maintain the general ledger and assist with audits and internal controls.
