Job summary

King & George is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO – Level 1) to manage safety programs at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, FL. The SSHO or a qualified alternate must be on-site at all times when work is performed, ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities include implementing the Accident Prevention Plan, conducting hazard analyses, safety inspections, incident investigations, and maintaining training records and safety logs for

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification is required.
• 24 hours formal SOH training within the past 5 years (and maintain every 3 years).
• Must meet EM 385-1-1 qualification requirements (including subparagraphs).
• Must allocate and provide Competent Persons for all identified hazards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and enforce the contractor’s Safety Program per EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements.
• Be on-site at all times when work is performed.
• Implement and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
• Conduct job hazard analyses, safety inspections, and incident investigations.
• Maintain training records, safety logs, and reporting to Government safety offices.
