Job summary

Gibraltar Fabrication, LLC in Eagle Pass, TX seeks an experienced Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to lead all field safety on active construction projects, including federal design-build work. The SSHO is the on-site safety authority responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety and environmental programs in line with OSHA standards.

This role requires full-time on-site presence, collaboration with Operations, Quality, HR, and project teams, and a proactive safety culture;

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years of construction safety experience with SSHO exposure.
• SSHOs on federal design-build projects (two+), each ≥$5M.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards.
• Ability to write and manage JSPs and JSAs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SSHO role on active construction and federal design-build projects.
• Develop and implement field safety programs, APP, JSP templates.
• Maintain on-site authority to stop work for unsafe conditions.
• Conduct job site inspections and monitor high-risk activities.
• Manage incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Deliver toolbox talks and field safety trainings.
