Job summary

Carshieldcareers is seeking a mid-level SQL Server Data Engineer to design databases, write SQL/T-SQL, and optimize data pipelines for scale. This onsite role in Saint Peters, MO collaborates with software engineers and data scientists to improve data flow from collection to reporting.

You will troubleshoot issues, tune performance, and document requirements. A BS in CS or MIS and 4+ years of SQL Server experience are required; C# or Python and Power BI experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of experience as a SQL Server Data Engineer.
• Deep understanding of SQL, database design, normalization.
• Knowledge of buffer pool, parallelism, execution plans, indexing.
• 2+ years experience creating, managing and monitoring data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• Experience with C# or Python preferred.
• 2+ years experience with BI tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design new databases and write SQL/T-SQL stored procedures.
• Troubleshoot tickets and implement elegant solutions.
• Tune slow queries with indexing and better design.
• Collaborate with software engineers and data scientists on data flow from collection to reporting.
