Job summary

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (SPED) for a full-time, school-based role in Central Falls, RI. The position involves specialized instruction, case management, IEP development, and collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers on-site work with guaranteed hours and a manageable caseload, paying $45-$55/hour based on experience. State licensure in SPED and eligibility for Rhode Island teaching credentials are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related qualifying field.
• Current or eligible for appropriate State Licensed teaching certification/credentialing in Special Education.
• Appropriate state authorization to provide Special Education teaching services in Alaska.
• One or more years of experience in a school setting preferred.
• Experience working with children and students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development and implementation, special education eligibility, and progress monitoring.
• Ability to provide individualized and differentiated instruction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with technology used for instruction, documentation, and communication.
• Ability to complete fingerprinting and background clearances.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, administrators, and related-service professionals.
• Professionalism, tact, discretion, and respect for student and family confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction and case management services designed to support students with disabilities.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs.
• Provide specialized instruction tailored to students' needs.
• Manage assigned student caseloads and coordinate services.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations, as appropriate.
• Monitor student progress and collect data toward IEP goals.
• Adapt instructional strategies based on performance and needs.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain educational records.
• Participate in IEP, eligibility, multidisciplinary, and student-support meetings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related-service providers, administrators, families, and other team members.
• Support accommodations, modifications, and strategies across environments.
• Create a welcoming, safe, structured learning environment.
• Provide guidance to classroom staff on strategies for students with disabilities.
• Support compliance with IDEA and district procedures.
