Job summary

Veolia is seeking on-site hazardous and non-hazardous waste technicians in the San Diego area to support diverse client needs in environmental services. You will handle waste management tasks, maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and operate equipment to ensure timely project completion.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a BS in Chemistry preferred, and the ability to obtain a CDL and 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; degree preferred for chemistry-related roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site hazardous and non-hazardous waste services according to contract.

• Comply with DOT/RCRA/EPA paperwork to expedite disposal.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely to complete projects timely.

Job Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for providing on site hazardous and non-hazardous services to meet client environmental needs in accordance with state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. This position will work in a supervised and/or independent capacity to successfully, and safely, complete scheduled projects for customers. Responsibilities may include packing, labeling, manifesting, and shipping waste based on contract type.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing and potential problems
• Manage on site customers hazardous and non hazardous waste needs per the contract
• Comply and enforce all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures
• Ensure completion and accuracy of all DOT/ RCRA/ EPA paperwork to expedite disposal of hazardous waste as required
• Operate and maintain all equipment in a safe manner to insure optimum efficiency and effectiveness to complete assigned projects in a timely manner
• Knowledge and understanding of contract terms and possess the ability to follow through on assignments
• Other work related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

• High School diploma or General Educational Development( GED) required
• BS in Chemistry or a related science discipline preferred
• Prior work experience in the hazardous waste or related industry preferred

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

Additional Information

Pay Range:$25 to $27 per hour.
