Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking an on-site Environmental Technician to provide hazardous and non-hazardous waste services to clients, ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.

You will pack, label, manifest, and ship waste as required, maintain professional client relations, and help ensure timely project completion while adhering to DOT/RCRA/EPA paperwork and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BS in Chemistry or related field preferred.
• Prior work experience in hazardous waste or related industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site hazardous and non-hazardous waste services per contract.
• Answer client inquiries and suggest solutions to problems.
• Enforce environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
• Complete and verify DOT/RCRA/EPA paperwork for disposal of hazardous waste.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely to complete projects on time.

Job Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for providing on site hazardous and non-hazardous services to meet client environmental needs in accordance with state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. This position will work in a supervised and/or independent capacity to successfully, and safely, complete scheduled projects for customers. Responsibilities may include packing, labeling, manifesting, and shipping waste based on contract type.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing and potential problems
• Manage on site customers hazardous and non hazardous waste needs per the contract
• Comply and enforce all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures
• Ensure completion and accuracy of all DOT/ RCRA/ EPA paperwork to expedite disposal of hazardous waste as required
• Operate and maintain all equipment in a safe manner to insure optimum efficiency and effectiveness to complete assigned projects in a timely manner
• Knowledge and understanding of contract terms and possess the ability to follow through on assignments
• Other work related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

• High School diploma or General Educational Development( GED) required
• BS in Chemistry or a related science discipline preferred
• Prior work experience in the hazardous waste or related industry preferred

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
• Ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
• Successful completion of OS 1 OJT and competency assessment

Additional Information

Pay Range:$25 to $27 per hour.
