Job summary

GeoTek, Inc. is seeking a field technician with soils experience for on-site testing and sample collection across Nevada and surrounding regions.

You will perform standard field tests, prepare daily reports, and communicate results to supervision while maintaining safety and equipment integrity. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or Geology-related degree, plus GB qualification or progress toward it.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years grading/soils experience, or 1+ year with Geology/Earth Science degree.
• Clark County GB qualification preferred; pursuing GB acceptable.
• Nuclear Density Gauge and ICC Soils certifications highly preferred.
• Additional soils, materials testing, or special inspection certifications are a plus.
• Must have access to a vehicle for transporting field equipment.
• Vehicle reimbursement is provided for approved use of a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine field testing and sample collection.
• Prepare daily data reports of testing and inspection.
• Communicate results to supervisor and dispatch.
• Operate field equipment including nuclear gauge and ladders safely.
• Travel to job sites with 1–2 hours daily drive time.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients and equipment.
